optrafair about the show
The most fashionable, innovative frames that reflect the style of 2009, are sought for an exciting national competition that is likely to propel the winning frame into the style pages of the national press.
The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians, is inviting all Optrafair 2009 exhibitors to put forward the frames that they feel deserve the title of "Frame of 2009" in five different categories:
- Men's Ophthalmic
- Women's Ophthalmic
- Men's Sunglasses
- Women's Sunglasses
- Children's Ophthalmic
A panel of respected fashion stylists and national press fashion journalists will judge the entries and are likely to focus on colour, design and a look that reflects the fashion mood of the moment.
The winners will be announced and prominently displayed at Optrafair, along with the runners-up, for the thousands of show visitors to see.
The aim is to catch the attention of the fashion world with what is happening in eyewear. Too often it is overlooked and models are rarely featured in glasses and yet the greatest attention is given to other accessories. The Optrafair team hope that a competition like this will highlight to the national press how exciting eyewear has become.
The competition is open to all Optrafair 2009 exhibitors, who are allowed to enter two frames in each category, with a £25 charge for each frame submission. All frames should be delivered to the FMO Offices, 199 Gloucester Terrace, Paddington, London W2 6LD by
3 March 2009.
